About Us

     Pelagic Outfitters was born from two buddies, Chris & Doug, who love to fish. It is said that if you can love what you do, then it is not considered work. Working in this industry and being able to spend our days affiliating with fisherman and helping fisherman hook up with proper equipment…. is what we are striving for.

     Pelagic Outfitters is geared towards the type of shop both of us have always looked for and could never find. Yes, there are many "Bait & Tackle" shops out there in the world, however, a place that carries topflight gear with a knowledgeable person to explain not only what the difference is between similar products, but more importantly, which is the right product for the intended use, is not your typical tackle shop.

     Chris and the crew fabricate on site a good majority of the products offered such as: Top Shots, Wind-Ons, Trolling Lures, Bars, Chains, Dredges and so on... We do reel repair on premises.   We will always offer you our professional opinion to help you become a more successful fisherman.

     The only difference between us and the other guy is us. With the advent of the Internet, you can go online and buy anything from anyone. We're here to offer you something that seems to be disappearing.... knowledgeable customer service. We want to build a relationship with you offering our experience to improve your catch.

      Fishing has been Chris' passion since his early childhood years. His first offshore trip happened in 1981 at the age of nine, and he has been hooked ever since. He is currently a holder of a 100-ton USCG master’s license with over 300 trips to the edge under his belt. He is in the shop full time to assist you with all your fishing related questions and/or needs.

     Doug's been fishing longer, only because he's older, however, when it comes to experience… Chris rules the roost! He has said, “we've been fishing together for the better part of a dozen years, and each trip Chris teaches me more and more.” Doug's been involved in Sporting Goods retail for many years, with his involvement with Camera Land, not only as a Camera retailer but one of the largest independent Sports Optics retailers in the USA for Rifle scopes and outdoor Optics. His connections in the industry have brought many valuable opportunities that we can share and pass along here at Pelagic Outfitters.

     When it comes right down to it, it's not all about fishing, it is about catching!  We look forward to "meeting" you and helping you to enjoy the sport we all love.
